Bengali filmmaker Anjan Dutt has directed three Byomkesh films - Byomkesh Bakshi (2010), Abar Byomkesh (2012) and Byomkesh Phire Elo (2014) - in Bengali. Apart from the 32 stories, Sharadindu began penning his last Byomkesh story - Bishupal Bodh - in 1970, but passed away before completing the work. In total, Sharadindu has penned 32 stories featuring his detective Bakshi.
